Shenergy - the Future of a Sustainable Shared Economy (Week 47)

What we have done

This week we have developed our scenario. The scenario will now be more extreme where we claim that there have been several nuclear disaster around the world and that Sweden consequently have shut down all their nuclear reactors. Simultaneously the worlds is reaching peak oil and to be able to provide Sweden with energy, more self produced energy is needed. In a country full of prosumers our application will be much needed because people will want to buy, sell, and share their excess energy.

We have also made a plan for the forthcoming work within the the project and divided tasks in the group. Half of the group will be working on the presentation while the other half will work on the report. The report-group have started writing on the presentation for the book.  The presentation-group have made a plan for what will be included in the presentation. Also, they have started with a storyboard for the movie, booked a person who will be the voiceover in the film and started with the illustrations that will be included in the movie. Finally we have created a doc that contains all future deadlines for the course, so we don't miss something.

What we will do

We will continue our work with the presentation and start filming the movie. But before filming we need to further develop our storyboard to visualize the scenes in the movie.  We believe that this is a valuable tool to assure that we get all the shots we need when filming. We will also write the script for the voiceover in the movie. In the movie we will use a prototype of Shenergy, therefore we will need to develop the prototype before filming.

We will also continue writing the report. So far we have discussed what the report should contain and written down our ideas. We have created a framework on what to write under each subtitle. Next week we will transform our ideas and the framework into a coherent text.

Challenges encountered

One of the challenges for us is to find time when we all can meet, as we have different schedules that often collides when we try to plan our meetings. We have solved the problem by working in smaller groups and by dividing tasks. Another challenge is to edit the movie, since none of us are experts on the program After Effects we will have to learn and try out different solutions.

Changes in the project

First and foremost, a change in our project is that we will leave out the conventional application looking like a typical mobile app of today, but rather focus on how we believe the future interaction design will look like. The solution will be a cloud-based system installed at home (connected to home electric measure) excisable on any kind of additional device with Wi-Fi. It is an accessible and easy-to-use system that you can bring wherever you go, with the ability to visualize the application data on any flat surface, trough a great variety of devices. Secondly, we have added a scenario to the project in order to motivate people to use our concept. The scenario is of extreme, which we believe will help to capture the audience's interest at the presentation and make the concept more believable.
